Blessed is our God, now and ever unto ages of ages!
God has blessed the founding of our new men's Orthodox Christian Monastery, under the protection of St. Demetrios of Thessaloniki and the direction of Metropolitan Jonah. Our monastic brotherhood found a home in Spotsylvania, VA, at the beginning of October 2020 after a successful funding drive. Already, we are experiencing significant growth, with the brotherhood expanding through the tonsuring of a Rassophore Hierodeacon, a Small Schema Hieromonk, and several young men interested in & joining the community, with some working outside the monastery to help pay the mortgage and living expenses. Already at capacity, we have created rooms in the basement for monastic cells. We are now looking for 35-50+ acres, as we need to have adequate facilities to serve not only an expanding brotherhood, but a lay community as well, including a nice chapel and dining facilities for 50+ people. The Library is also expanding to house the archives of the blessed Bishop Basil (Radzianko). Our liturgical life is taking shape and, in addition to our community prayers, we regularly attend Saint Herman of Alaska Church, in nearby Stafford, VA. We have developed a full daily cycle of services, frequent Liturgies, and are working to plan and develop monastery industries. We are grateful to all who have furthered our development, and invite you to join with our supporters through both your prayers and through your financial generosity! -Metropolitian Jonah and the Brotherhood
